Oceanside 70.3

Back to training today after Ironman Oceanside 70.3 and feeling fully recovered and focused after first race of the year. Oceanside was a very fun course and had a great week with family, Disneyland, visiting with sponsors Vitargo, Quintana Roo and Profile Design who all had booths at the Ironman Village. I would like to especially thank Quintana Roo, Profile Design and iRT Wheels for the machine that they helped put together! I was 1st in my AG by over 2 minutes for the bike portion of the race and 5th in over 800 women for the bike split portion. I am very happy with these results. Even with a mechanical issue on the bike that I fought with for the entire ride my time was where I hoped it would be.

A couple mistakes in the swim cost me some valuable time and am committed to learning from these mistakes to improve my time at St. George Ironman 70.3 on May 3rd. I really feel like I can swim a sub 30:00 and was somewhat disappointed with my 34:00 as it cost me a birth into Ironman World Championships. Will work hard to correct and qualify in May.

Ending with a positive I PR on the run portion by over 1 minute. My goal is to go sub 1:40 for the 13.1 by Vineman so I still have a ways to go but am definitely aiming for that very soon.

As special thanks to all my friends with FilAm Triclub. You are such a fun group of people to be around. Thanks for all the support and encouragement. Proud to be a part of the club.IMG_1329
